Whale sharks year-round in South Ari
Why the southern Ari atoll plateau is the world's most reliable whale-shark site.

Most whale-shark sites are seasonal. South Ari is not. A resident population of juvenile males loiters on the plateau between Dhigurah and Maamigili year-round, feeding on plankton brought up by the sloping reef. The hit rate on a properly-run dhoni search is around 80% over three days.
